Why Put Tracks on a Yamaha Kodiak?

Built for Work

No frills — just reliable function under load. The Kodiak was designed to work hard, and tracks are a natural extension of that.

Proven Yamaha Drivetrain

Same proven drivetrain as the Grizzly in a utility-focused package. You get Yamaha durability without paying for features you don't need.

Straightforward Installation

Simpler chassis design makes for a straightforward track installation with fewer clearance issues than more complex machines.

How Yamaha Kodiak Owners Use Tracks

Farm & Ranch Winter Work

Keep the daily work going when snow shuts everything else down. Feed livestock, check fences, and haul supplies across frozen, snow-covered ground.

Snow Access for Property Chores

Reach every corner of your property for feeding, fencing, and maintenance work regardless of snow depth or ground conditions.

Hauling Across Soft Ground

Move gear, tools, and materials across soft, wet, or frozen ground without getting stuck or tearing up the surface.

Yamaha Kodiak Track FAQs

The 700 gives you more power to work with and handles the extra weight and resistance of tracks more easily. The 450 works on flat terrain and for lighter use, but if you're dealing with hills, deep snow, or heavy loads, the 700 is the better choice.

Absolutely. The Kodiak shares its core drivetrain with the Grizzly, which is one of the most durable ATVs on the market. Many ranch and farm operators run tracks on their Kodiaks through entire winters without issues.

Mechanically, they share the same engine and transmission in the 700 class. The Grizzly adds features like independent rear suspension and more aggressive styling. For track use on work duty, the Kodiak does everything the Grizzly does at a lower price point.

Maintenance Tip

The Kodiak 450's lower power means you should keep track tension slightly looser than spec to reduce drivetrain strain.
