Why Put Tracks on a Can-Am Outlander?

Rotax Power Delivery

The Rotax engine delivers strong, consistent power for track systems at any RPM — no lag, no surging.

Engine Size Options

Available from 450cc to 1000cc so you can match engine size to your track needs and riding style.

Stability on Tracks

Independent suspension with a front sway bar provides stability that translates well to tracks, keeping the machine planted.

How CanAm Outlander Owners Use Tracks

Deep Snow Riding

Push through deep powder and high-mark on slopes that would bury a tire-equipped ATV. The Outlander's power makes tracks really shine in snow.

Mud & Swamp Access

Access areas where tires sink to the axles. Tracks spread the Outlander's weight across a huge footprint, floating over surfaces tires can't handle.

Year-Round Trail Machine

Run tracks in winter and swap back to tires in summer. The Outlander's versatility makes it an aggressive all-season trail machine.

Running Tracks in Snow

Tracks give your Outlander grip in snow that tires can't match.

CanAm Outlander Track FAQs

The 650 and up are the sweet spot. The 570 works fine for flat terrain and light snow, but if you plan to ride in deep snow or hilly terrain, the extra torque from the 650, 850, or 1000 makes a real difference. More power means less strain on the drivetrain.

Yes. The Outlander MAX has a longer wheelbase which actually provides more stability on tracks. The same track systems fit both standard and MAX models. Just keep in mind the extra passenger weight on top of the track weight when riding aggressively.

Both are excellent platforms for tracks. The Outlander tends to have a slight edge in raw power delivery thanks to the Rotax engine, while the Sportsman has more aftermarket fitment data available. Honestly, pick the machine you prefer — tracks work great on both.

Maintenance Tip

Outlander's Rotax engines run hot — make sure your cooling system is clean and unobstructed when running tracks, especially in mud.
